No not made any, purely because no ones ever asked. I'd need an original to take a copy off.

thanks, i've removed more brackets & drilled more holes since then but gave up getting the scales now. Going to put her on a weigh bridge once she's finished to confirm the final weight.

when you first put up about your championship i did think about joining you, but then i read the rules & i'd have to put half the car back lol

mainly yeh, i'm already registered with Santa Pods "street challenge" championship but got a few track days lined up. I'm not really bothered about joining any official championships with BT just after some fun with her, the Nurburgring is on the cards

Tuesday 26th April 2011, 21:25
coolstuff!

you'll love the ring!! thats mental!! lol
i've only had 1 lap, but OMG, what a track!

go to the F1 circuit too while your there, it was 30 euros ( I think ) for
a 20 min session. was quite mental, 40 or so cars released from the pitlane at the same time with no rules or briefing or anything! it was like a race, but the guy next to you has his weekly shop in the back of his family car, baby seat too!! lol

crazy stuff, but great fun

might be tempted with a boot (when the bank man lets me), but still tempted by the one-piece front end

the front is made from one piece of fibre glass. The wings, bonnet, bumper etc are moulded together & all come off together in 1 bit

oh bear in mind, as I am actually racing this thing, I might need replacements from time to time, so definatly worth hanging on to a pattern

....but still tempted by the one-piece front end

I want a one piece front end.....Tomcat 'd be tempted for one to cut the setup/mould in half if you are serious about a one piece front end...

Mine needs to stay road legal, so headlight housing etc will be needed..

You'd need a whold car to make a mould from wouldn't you?

Tomcat
Saturday 14th May 2011, 17:08
Mmm interesting, until I get rid of the 960 I'd have no where to put a third car though, as for the headlights I could just build some brackets into the one pice and you could just screw them in.

Oh right....it's like that is it?...lol.

A one piece flip front would be seriously hard work, not only in actualy making it but also because you'd need to be able to mount it as well. Would you be just clipping it in place or where you thinking of adding hinges etc?.

i knew it'd be too complex for you lol. I'd want it totally removable, do you know how heavy hinges are lol

JT

no heavier than that lump of ply in your window! lol

Tomcat
Saturday 14th May 2011, 19:45
I only mentioned hinges as to add them would be more of a pain in the ass, without them it'll be a lot easier. Would just have to get a full front end and take a mould off it. (wings, bonnet, bumper etc). after that it's up to you how you choose to mount it, I'd just have to make sure it was reasonable well braced to stop it flopping around when you took it off.

I'm not expecting cheap... I can guess that the work involve would be massive, but I'm thinking if I got preference choice on design for mounting points, I would like to use the original hinge points and open the front end like a clam...

Then I'll need you to modify mine once complete anyway....but that came come later...

JUDGENINJA
Saturday 14th May 2011, 22:14
Then I've got to think about collection and fitting once made...
