Hi, My 855 t5 auto lasted 24hrs after remap then blow the auto box Doh! i've now got a 855 t5 manual running the same ecu which is remap'd.

My mates got a Seat Cupra 240bhp and running my Auto 855 with a mbc set to 12.5 psi i could just keep with him till 60mph then i would pass him.

Now i've got a 855 t5 manual running a hlm remap i notice 1st and 2nd i boost roughly 9.5 psi, and the cupra will acclerate away. Until i get into 3rd 4th AND 5TH! then i catch him, Gauge reading 15psi -16psi in the last 3 gears.

In short my Auto (mbc) was quicker to 60-70 than my Manual runing a remap!

Can i and should i run a mbc with my remap or not?

What is the safe limit on a stock 855 t5 engine

I can't tell you weather you should, but I ran a hlm map and mbc for over a year with no ill effects

you need the remap to be able to run the mbc to those high boost figures mine is set to 20 psi on a 19t its a hoot lol

The ecu limits boost in lower gears to reduce torque and wheelspin, hence the lower pressures (and possibly a factor in the destruction of your auto box with the mbc?).

Really? I think anything up to 14 is acceptable. Alot of cars will spike lean to around 16 on initial boost then drop to between 11 and 13 if set up correctly.

Mine ran 10-11.5 on the Dyno with just a HLM304.
