anybody fitted one...i had a look and could not even find it,can you tell me how to get the job done.....cheers

you can see the starter motor very well in this pic, never took it off the 850 myself but if its the same as the S60 then theirs 2 bolts where the red connectors are on the below pic. Obviously the positive feed wire needs taking off as well

no problem sir. It took longer to get the socket set out than remove the starter on the S60, but can't say how that compares to doing it on a 850

It dont take ( not that i ve changed one but going by how quick the inlet manifold comes off) that long once the inlet manifold is off cause everything is outta the way then and its easily accessible
Id say 2 hours top....mate

is that the only way to get to the startermotor,by taking the inlet manafold off ? every job i do on my car is never straight forward

they pretty easiy to change 2 14mm bolts on the bell housing 1 14mm bolt that holds the starter motor bracket to the engine block and 2 8mm nuts that atatch the wiring to the starter and a spade connector once its all undone the starter will only slide out towards the gearbox with a bit of a wiggle it is a fiddley job and ive got big hands lol think it took me half hour 40 min to do the job

did you remove inlet manafold to do the job i was mabe going to take the fan off for more room

no mate no need to take either out it will come out between the fan and the box, bit tight but it does go lol

no BT's always in bits & think i was working on the PCV, posted the pic to show you where the starter was. Sorry for the confusion
