I have a knock comin from somewhere on the passenger side when goin over uneven ground, when the car rocks from side to side you get a fair few clanks from it... Bottom arms are new, strut tops are new, no play at all in the road wheel, i am thinkin possibly roll bar bush, how easy is it to get the bolts out??? Might change um anyway... Secondly summat makes me think the drive shaft is showin its mileage, but its only got little play end to end not rotational play... Ideas please...

Have a look at the anti-roll bar links.

The bushes are not replaceable on the 850's, they are bonded on, and the 'bar isn't easy to change.

Also, open the bonnet and take a firm hold of the top of the circular part fromt strut. If you can rotate it, this means your rubber top mounts have failed, this will create a knocking noise.
My money is on the drop links.
If you have ARB bush probs, PFS have recently started doing a kit to repair this problem, but personally I would get IPD ARB fitted front and rear. The front is not a job for the feint hearted, but a Volvo specialist should fit these for about two hours labour. It is about the most excellent improvement you can make to your car's handling.
It is also possible you have got worn wishbone bushes, get under the car and give the wishbones a good heave ho to see.
