Had my 850R manual rolling roaded and got 263 bhp with 303 ft lb torque but was expecting a fair bit more as it has hlm remap 2.5" exhaust with decat and bsr filter. I have since fitted a custom rip kit and a boost gauge which shows a peak at 15 psi and holding around 14 psi now the question is do the figures sound right or a bit down and any suggestions if low.

was the 263bhp at the wheels or engine? Yours should of been 250bhp@engine originally so if your figures are at the engine its a bit low

your only hitting 14 psi to 15 psi thats just about 1 bar ,i would normally see about 16 to 17 psi or 1.1 to 1.2 bar mate about 275 bhp fly.was the car there just for a power run or a setup sounds like the actuator is abit loose mate

not one single person who had an old 850 or v70 got near the figure they thought they would at the rolling road day alot with maps were getting 230-240bhp, i wish people would stop assuming a 100000 mile machine is going to hit manufacturers bhp claims when they just dont

May have to get it on a different dyno for comparison was done at siverstone autosport in queensferry

sounds about on the money given age etc... besides... people with newer cars like S40's get weird readings, but go time their acceleration intervals and they're spot on the money compared to manufacturers figures.

Don't put too much store into dyno readings :)

but 14 psi is still low for a remaped car though

Sounds about spot on for the boost your running mate, off the shelf maps are mild to what can be done, i had a similar spec to you ie 16t/m59/rip/bsr etc and with a little playing with the map got 289bhp @ 1.2bar ish(270whp)

You have a baseline from 1 dyno. I would stick to just one dyno for better/worse. Searching for BHP via different dynos will only cloud the picture. Do you know what your pre-tuned figures were. Do you know what the graph looks like on the pre-tune.

It isn't all about peak figures, you know. The area under the torque curve is important.

Depending how much you are willing to spend on a 15 year old car to bring back any lost performance. Rejuventation is not cheap!

S60R figures are very much subject to ambient temperatures when standard. (Also seem to be different between cars)

you mean Volvo found a dyno in Iceland when they got 300bhp out of one lol
