As the intercooler is to remove heat from turbo'd air, wouldn't it be better sited in direct airflow and not behind the air con condensor?? My Audi S2 has it under the car completely seperate from the rad and a/c condensor.

Anyone replaced it and moved the location? does it make any difference?
cheers
Michael

IMHO if you put it underneath the air flow to it will be lost and you will be more likely to damage it. The Non A/C cars fair the best as they have the I/C at the very front.

not always - the cars with A/C have the condenser at the very front, then IC then Rad and somewhere in between an oil cooler and on AT cars - an ATF cooler too.

the oil cooler is built into the side of the rad
