some of you may remember me killing my gearbox last year?, now the time has come to get her up and running again, so............

up to the workshop and onto the ramp, she's coming............

found a turbo from a john deere tractor lol it bolts up but some minor modifications would be needed me thinks lol

whilst fannying around and thinking silly ideas we noticed the manifold had a few cracks, quite a bad one but the pics dont really show it (crappy phone pics)

thanks to 'jason850t5' i had an me7 manifold arrive the next day.



gearbox off............cant actually see any damage to the box, holes etc...... anyway scrap that

Is this your workshop, or someone elses, right handy havin that and the lifts etc...would love to have a kitted out garage like that....ill be lucky if my trolley jack still works..lol..looking good tho mate hopefully on the road very soon..

thats my mates workshop, got a 2 poster lift, scissor lift and a 4 poster. very handy

I always took it that it wasn't a good idea to run diesel turbo's on a petrol engine, I've just found this, on the other hand, if it works, great! :)

Some Diesel turbos do not have an oil seal behind the compressor. This is necessary on a petrol engine turbo as the vacuum created by the engine when the throttle is closed will pull oil out of the turbo bearings and produce clouds of blue smoke out of the exhaust.

Most Diesel engines do not have a throttle valve in the intake, so will not produce a vacuum which draws the oil out of the turbo.

if ya had a 2 post ramp , why didnt you take the engine out the bottom lol , you will need to spin the turbo round unless ya want ya intercooler on ya passenger seat lol

i think the turbo was put on for a joke picture, think he's just fixing the gearbox

we've always found it easier taking it out the top tbh

Lookin good Stu, i've got that Autobox and ecu in my garage ready to fit, but i've now F**Ked me Left arm been signed off work 2 weeks!! dunno wen i going to have enough strength in my arm to start puttin the new box in :(

Unless anyone on here wants to come down and do it lol
