Is it a silly idea to think about putting two space savers on the rear of a front wheel drive car and attempting to hit 100mph+ on a drag strip??

Or if this is a stupid idea??!!

Or is the beading on motor cycle tyres able to fit onto them instead..??!

I'm prepared to be shot down is flames, but I like to think out side the box.. No matter how stupid it sounds..

LMAO Dude, though I'm not going to be the one to shoot you down.

I'm sure theres a reason why they say not to go over 50mph (or whatever it is nowadays) with a spacesaver on.

Speaking of which, I saw one of those huge Chryslers (Bentley lookalikes) with a spacesaver on it the other day, looked completely unsafe.

I suppose at the end of the day you could try it and take the risk!?

I had been driving around on my space saver for 3 weeks, admittedly on the front but the car did not feel safe at all, more bangs and noises than i had ever heard before and def did nt feel like going fast, could nt wait to get it off... but for the matter of curiousity i think it could be a great idea prob go much faster.. when you try wait for me to get to top of grand stand...and out of way lol

I doubt they would allow you to run with a space saver on, limited to 50mph, I think they would deam it unsafe.

never thought of using bike tyres, they'd cope fine with the speed but not sure about the weight rating

you'd probably get away with the space savers at Santa Pod because they don't check the vehicle over before you run & i was very surprised by there lack of safety checks evn on one-off stuff. I phoned them up asking who to see about checking the Go-ped over before racing, they said we'll be watching so do a couple of runs & we'll let you know if we're unhappy lol. Thats not saying its a good idea & be concerned about them bursting because of the space-savers speed rating

Last time at Avon there was a few people running space savers on the back, sure you get the car looked over then changed the tyres.

I'v seen them used as well, usually on little hatchbacks.
Not sure if i'd fancy it though.

Very amusing... Nice replies. I not worried about blow out from over heating, but possibly rotational speed may rip them from the rim... Maybe I Think I need to speak to a tyre specialist.

Why don't you take 20" out of the wheel base, your bound to lose a lot of weight which will no doubt achieve your goal and have a unique 1 off T5?

I don't know, that's why I'm asking.
Seen a Honda civic online with them fitted to the rear.
