Hiya guys,

I was just out driving and the car stalled a couple of times (waiting for traffic). She doesn't normally idle low, and after I re-started her she was fine again for a bit. Then she started lunging when I was pootling along at 30mph in traffic in third gear. It was so bad that I nearly pulled over to get out of the way of traffic. Then after about 20 seconds, it stopped happening, so I carried on (I was less than a mile from home anyway). Got home, pulled into the parking space, she was idling fine at this point. I popped the bonnet and couldn't see anything blatantly wrong. Then she cut out again.

Luckily she's booked in to see VT tomorrow anyway, as I think one of the wheel bearings is on the way out, so I'll ask them to take a look at this too.. but in the mean time, hopefully to save me panicing about a wallet-bashing, does anyone have any initial thoughts?

Cheers

hello mate,

had a similar problem with my t5 estate, the intercooler pipe was loose and came off,and my car turned into a nightmare, like you said,it didn't idle, and to keep it running you had to rev it really really high, ask vt to have a look at the intercooler pipe,i would have thought it would be that,

Cheers Henry :) I hope it is something as cheap and simple as that, lol. I'll go out and take a look now before I head down to VT.

Cheers

D'oh, had a call from Hamish a little while ago. It's the MAF sensor :( Oh well, it's getting replaced, so hopefully shouldn't cause me any grief for a few more years :D

Handbrake shoe had delaminated, and a full set of discs and pads is also required. Serious wallet rapeage.. but with the turbo re-tightened, and all these new bits and pieces, she should drive like a new machine :D

Anyone want to buy my body? Or rent? Very reasonable rates...

You could always try flogging it on ebay.

I know that there are some gullible people on there, but I think that this would be pushing it a bit

MarkThanks for that, it's just that Dave at Pengellys said i might get another 4000 miles outta my fronts, and that the suspension bushes had slight flex in them but were OK for now - i like to have an idea of whats around the corner.
