was bored and was flicking thru my haynes manual and noticed in there pictures of the ecu box they only have one module in the box, but on mine i have 2, the ECU in the middle and another one on the right as you face it.. what is the other one and is this normal...Also have an auto box but i have only winter mode switch and no sports or eco mode is this normal on a T5?.... Just curious as dont know cars history cause not got log book back yet..

The other ecu is for the auto and by the sounds of it your car has the 5spd auto, as only the 4spd has the sport/eco button.

It's possible your car is an early ME7.

My t4 auto (5spd) had - low, 3rd, 4th then D, N, R, P.
My s70r auto (4spd) has - low, 3rd, D, N, R, P.

I did wonder if it ws for the Auto... as for a ME7 not sure it is a 1998 on a S reg...also i did ask in an earlier post about brakes as this one i have found to my costs ( bought a set of columbas alloys) has 302mm brake discs that look like they were Std... is the ME7 quicker or what is the differenc from earlier V70 T5

Maybe i'm wrong about the order on the 5spd, but i was sure my t4 had low, 3rd and 4th.
Maybe its different on the V70 5spd?

I'd still think yours is the 5 spd as they removed the sports/eco mode because it was a new adaptive gearbox and every 4spd auto v70 i have been in has had the sports/eco button (even the non turbos).

If you've got a throttle cable you're not ME7...just a useless piece of info if you want to check it mate!

Thanks mate, actually gonna check but have nt seen a throttle cable...cause if it would be in the same place as my 2.5 20V had then it does nt have one...so if its an ME7 is this better? also would that explain having 302 discs
