HI all....am I right in saying that any alloy with the same pcd and centre bore as my 850 will fit? I ve found a set of alloys of a new mondeo that I like the look of ans as far as i can see all the dimensions are the same? any ideas, cheers again.......

The centre bore on a mondeo is smaller than the 850's

Mondeo is 63.4mm
850 is 65.1mm

is that what the spiggot ring is for? to increase the diameter

Spigot rings are fitting because the centre bore on the alloy wheel is bigger than the cars, take it you are looking at an aftermarket set of alloys?

If they are aftermarket rims, there's a good chance they will, email them and see what centre bore the wheel is.

Will need machining then.

Take them to an engineering firm and get them to mill the centre out to 65.1.... Shouldn't cost any more than £20. You also need to check the offset is ok too.

Also I think fords have wheel nuts not bolts, which in it's self doesn't matter, but just check the shank. If it is different then it may be easier to get the bolt holes machined at the same time as the bore, instead of finding bolts to match which can get expensive.

I did this with a set of jaguar wheels as they have flat shank wheel nuts. Come to think of it aren't jaguar and ford the same pcd and offset. If so you'll need hubcentric spacers too, like I did. Which gets expensive.
