I find the genuine Volvo spark plugs run nicely.

However since modifying I have always run NGK Platinum's (PFR7B) they are about £9 a plug but worth every penny.

Hi, my s70 t5 is rica'd and running around 14psi, I just fitted new ngk platinums and its crap! Badly splutters and coughs on boost? I'm thinking of closing the gaps on the plugs first? What do you reckon?? :)

I have heard these engine don't like platinum plugs, don't know why. Try a standard set, or put the old back in and try that.

I use the genuine plugs, no problems. Fires first time every time. What are you hoping to achieve by using expensive plugs?

My top tip is,
Change the inexpensive dizzy cap and rotor arm first before getting all confused over white gold plated rare metal plugs from the moon! All plugs need a strong current to perform well!
Good luck! :)

Holy thread bump! But whilst here. I've just gone for the NGK BKR7EIX so I'll soon find out.
Mines been missing under load for a few weeks on and off, so have some half decent HT leads coming too. :)
Not bothering with the MSD coil now, heard it's not worth the money.

I'm going to order a new cap and rotor as well as plugs from Rufe - they haven't been done for a goodly while - and will see what happens. Keep me posted on how you get on.

Got them through today, so will fit tomorrow methinks.
Apparently the leads are used in the Civic cup racing series, so guess I'll have to cover my car in stickers and add the shopping lists down the front doors :D
