Battery Relocation

Has anyone done a battery relocation on a c70 or such like. Need it out of the engine bay to fit my dual filter setup. Any ideas as to the best way to do it. Also I've only recently bought a new battery so i don't really want to buy a new gel one.

Buy yourself a battery box from a rally spares place and stick it in the boot.

Is it ok to use a normal battery then?, most of the stuff I've read said id have to get a gel one.
Was planning to run the original positive cable from the battery
connect it to the original battery cable under the bonnet with a fuse near the battery
then ground the negative a good earth in the boot
is this the best way to do it, just been picking bits of info front here and there

Provided you put it in a proper battery box you would be fine using a normal battery, that's what we used to use when Tarmac rallying years ago and that used to pass scrutaneering.

i used a Autoleads junction box to link the existing positive to a new lead which then runs down the sill to the boot. I bought a aluminium battery tray from ebay for about £30. I did used to use a sealed battery but that was purely because i had it laid on its side under the spare wheel

Oh ok well i think id prefer to have one any idea as to the rating id need don't want it blowing all the time

will need to be quite a large one. I had an inline fuse holder with 300amp fuse somewhere, i'll see if i can find it for you

Nice one. Is 300 amp a bit high not that im being ungrateful lol thought a 200 would have been more than sufficient.

i've got a couple of 100amp fuses (& a nice 1in2 out fuse holder) but no 200amp fuses

Found a 150 amp fuse and a 200 amp fuse.
Think there ANR type or something with the the sort of angled forks each end

You don't need a fuse! Think about it, the starter motor is on the end of the heavy duty, high capacity lead coming from the positive terminal of the battery. You do not fuse a starter supply.
