Will the clutch that i would like to bid on, fit my V40 2.0T W-plate (vin yv1vw2522yf527523)? I just don't know how to marry up all the different part nos. i have! (and yes i have searched google for all possible options)

DELPHI PART NUMBER HK 7608 (2 part kit cover&plate)
V40 Estate (VW) - 1.9 T4 05.97-07.00 06.97-04.00 147 200 1855
V40 Estate (VW) - 2.0 T4 07.00-06.04 -01.04 147 200 1948

Don't know about the clutch plate numbers but you will also need the slave cylinder/thrust bearing which comes seperate.

Looking at the part no's it looks like they have the year of manufacture in them 07.00-06.04 = July 2000 - June 2004

possibly???

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I have contacted volvo and according to them its a 228 clutch and was only put on v40 estates for only 8 months from July 1999. problem is that it can be replaced by 1 other clutch which is a 240 (was apparantly put on some european models, but not all).

In short thank you for your help, unfortunately the cheaper clutches were not appropriate (spline info was wrong) and the clutch for 311 was only £18 less than eurocarparts!
