HI and seasonal greetings to one and all . Has anyone kept their SC-901 and added an auto changer that plays MP3 recordings?????

If so, which one and how please ........

Also stalk controls or changing the wheel to include cruise and audio controls ???

Thanks in anticipation, christmas money at the ready ...Kim

Looks like I am answering myself here , Now bought an ALPINE CHAS634 6 DISC MP3 CHANGER and looking to hook it up. Next cost ,the m bus adapter , SOUNDLINX-VOL02ALP looks like there's no getting around the price (£60) unless... anyone's "been there, done that" cheaper???
Seems like there is some interest in having home burnt mp3 Cd's (all copied from originally purchased Cd's) available in the car instead of a centre console full of loose Cd's.
Will continue to post results ,each time penny's permiting.

I looked into getting a cd changer myself ages ago, but decided against it as I couldn't find an alternative to the adapter which, as you say, is a costly piece of kit for what it is. Plus it wasn't MP3 compatible.

You say you've got the CHA-S634 changer, this uses the Ai-Net not the Mbus, so I'm guessing the VOL02ALP adapter wont work with it.

Update....Contacted alpine they said use alpine addapter KCA 130B to back of unit and that's off eBay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160520562155&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_773wt_905 £17. Then they told me to phone ICD ltd 0121 323 2880, http://www.incaripod.com/Brand/ICD
Nice guy said they don't advertise the unit needed anymore but would do me one over the phone £40 ...job, hopefully done....will post as bits arrive and ,when I have a go at fixing in .Kim

Well I started this little personnel ,it would seem thread , and now time to close it ......
Have found a few things that might have been helpful ..from the back of a SC-901 Brown and green wires are 12v permanent feeds..yellow and violet 12v ignition switched.
A SC-901 will not see the CHA-S634 even with the VOLA2 interface .

According to the imfo sheet that comes with the set up it lists 1995-99 840,850,940,960,s40,v40,s70,v70, and not s80. But will work with Head units SC700,SC800/1/2/5 AND CR906.
NOT any more modern units eg sc-901.
