Not sure which section to pop this in so planted it in hear. I want to get a proper wheel repaint job on my T5 wheels. I want a complete strip as the existing paint is crap as it had a partial refurb when I got the car Feb this year. I made the mistake of using the quick car wash chaps and the acid they use on the wheels has started the paint to peel. I am looking for somebody near Coventry who I can leave the car with and have them done correctly, full paint strip, new powder coat etc. Any suggestions and any idea of the cost. Help fully appreciated.

I've got the same prob. But because my alloys are split rim, I can't get a quote under £500. I've been considering doing it myself. Even if I mess it up, it's not going to make a difference as they're a mess right now.

The cost can also depend on how bad they are. If they have corrosion on them, not just kerb marks, it can make it more expensive.
The wheels on my t4 were in a bad way and i got them done in dark anthracite for about £250. They looked brand new when i got them back and they had managed to get rid of a small wheel vibration the 3 different tyre places couldn't sort out.

The company that is very popular with the motoring trade and gets loads of good reviews is Lepsons - they have a branch in Swindon and one in Gillingham so not very convenient, but they do a proper job, are very professional and I seem to recall charge about £50 a corner. They have a turnaround of about a week but read their website: http://www.lepsons.com/

They completely strip the wheel and give it a full inspection - and can work wonders.

Cheers,
Phil

There is a company on Ebay who will exchange your old alloys for a refurbed set for about £250 - but that is pricier than Lepsons who refit tyres, rebalance and refut the wheels all in.

Normally, whenever I ask for a quote, it's around £40-£50 per wheel. But since I've bought the S80, i've had 5 quotes from seperate companies for my 18'' split rim alloy wheels to be refurbished. Cheapest quote I've recieved is £480 and dearest is £560.

Anyone in the Glasgow area recommend somewhere?

I`m in aberdeen.Theres a company up here(Scotland) called `Blasted alloys`.No number to tell you but they are mobile and fix them in the back of a fully equipped van.I was quoted £50 a corner.I think it`s a franchise business and the work looked top quality.Google them.

Made the biggest mistake this month by posting the same question on T5D5 and got told to Feck Off. Can't blame some on there as I have rubbed some up the wrong way but just thought somebody may have used a Coventry Refurbisher. My local Volvo Dealer has reccomended a company local who seem to do a good job so when weather gets a bit better will give it ago. Thanks chaps for the help. Need to sort out the colour maybe may go for a bit darker and get the caliper done as well as they look ££££e as well.
