claymore
Monday 15th April 2013, 17:00
OEM has one piston, these have 4, as for brake bias, the rear brakes do virtually nothing, I'm not even bothered about having better brakes, I just don't want to run out of brakes half way through a track session.

I use 18" rims as well, the problem isn't with the diameter of the wheel, the problem is with the offset, I just need some wheel spacers, no big problem.

dave has a point,
I would suggest you invest in a bias valve, you will put more pressure on the fronts and therefore, lock the rears:(

brake improvements look to be moving forward nicely, the bias valve is a must as it will enable you to tune the braking to what ever the track or tyres are doing, with the added bonus of being able to do it on the move. Just wish we had one when we used to race mini's with no weight on the back end...fun !!

I used 10mm angle, but you would only need angle for radial mounts.

This is the final design of dip I've decided on, so I'll have to re-do the plastics and inlet.

easy, I relocate some of the engine bay components (battery) into the back of the car, and I relocate a lot of other bits into the bin :)

So, onto slam panel design number (well I've actually lost count).
First polish up a piece of glass and stick some mirror image stickers on it ( I put 3 sets on to give it a little depth)

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u258/claymore2k/2013-06-01130538.jpg (http://s170.photobucket.com/user/claymore2k/media/2013-06-01130538.jpg.html)

next 3 layers of carbon fiber:

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u258/claymore2k/2013-06-01133508.jpg (http://s170.photobucket.com/user/claymore2k/media/2013-06-01133508.jpg.html)

Followed by a couple of brackets (these will be used to hold up the relays)

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u258/claymore2k/2013-06-01134641.jpg (http://s170.photobucket.com/user/claymore2k/media/2013-06-01134641.jpg.html)

Out of the mold:
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u258/claymore2k/2013-06-01142119.jpg (http://s170.photobucket.com/user/claymore2k/media/2013-06-01142119.jpg.html)

Cut to shape and a bead of Plasticine all around so that I can put on a thick layer of resin.
http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u258/claymore2k/2013-06-01153322.jpg (http://s170.photobucket.com/user/claymore2k/media/2013-06-01153322.jpg.html)

I'll have to leave it till tomorrow, then flat it all back and polish.
