I am going to change my Y registration Volvo S60 2.0T. I'm thinking about facelift S60 (54 on) or Audi A6 (02 - 05). I'm looking for economy and performance. I know D5 is good on fuel, but could get T5 and install LPG. Audi is a good car too, but 1.9TDI is underpowered and 2.5TDI is problematic and not fuel efficient. I do need a big vehicle as I'm 6f6in and budget to spend about 6k. Any advice is welcome.

i'd like a facelifted d5 get it remapped to over 220bhp and still 40mpg

Euro IV D5....they can be pretty powerful just with a remap. (Though if the olde turbo boost is turned up a bit to much it will probably blow the intercooler, so eerrrmmm if you want to push high power get a better intercooler).

Quick question... why change one S60 for another (diesel) one unless you're doing mega miles?

Assuming your current motor is reliable etc... of course.

I have got horrible blue one,it's only S spec, I love facelift one and prefer power in lower RPM range as I drive diesel at work. I bought it to try out S60, to see what it's like. Paid for it £1350, spent on it about a grand and drives great now. Recon turbo, breather system, new brakes all round, new battery, new cambelt, new top engine mount, new anit-rol bar links, repaired idling problem, serviced twice in last 2000 miles :D A lot of man hours :) I love it because it's quite and refined, people don't notice it until you put your foot down :)

So far 185bhp D5 then? Any common expensive faults ?
