My alarm has started to go off in the middle of the night, over a couple of nights now, random times, but it has only just started, and its coincided with the really cold nights. Im hoping its not the "siren" issue, and Im going to run through the tests to make sure. Is there anything i need to look for in the mean time??

Anyone elses alarm playing up in the damp and cold???

If it IS the siren, Fleebay have the fix kit for £95, and I'll sort it myself ;)

More than likely the rechargable battery is on it's way out. Dying cells won't like the cold weather. Have you had any messages on the DIM, "alarm service" or the like?

Is the fleabay item a genuine kit? IIRC Rufe did the kit for £85 after discount :-)

No errors on the DIM, and its the full alarm going, not just the siren (i think) Thats why Im thinking (hoping) its not the siren.

The weird thing is, it doesnt go off in the day, when its peeing down in my works car park???

The fleebay kit is the proper volvo one, and its a fiver delivery, but if Rufey can do it cheaper, and its foobarred, I'll be giving him a ring shortly

As robbie said its likely to be the battery.

I had exactly the same symptoms on my 02 V70 until eventually I changed the battery and it solved the problem. Also I found a "temporary" fix for mine which was to disconnect the sensor computer in the roof. Its underneath the square plastic panel roughly in the middle of the cabin. May not work for you but work a try.

Yes - likely to be a failing internal battery.

Yes - I supply these cheaper than on eBay. (My current total price is £95.49 delivered, with 1st class Royal Mail recorded delivery)
