central locking???

I have just lost the use of the central locking o my drivers rear door. Never had a problem b4 but the mrs locked the car by remote with the drivers door open then just shut it... would this effect anything cos it only happended after this. Are they like fords in anyway (sorry to swear here) cos they had a certain way of locking and if you didnt do it correct you had to do a certain procedure to correct it.
Any help is good as the door will not unlock and cant open door as child lock on.
