View Full Version : Is this too good a bargain?

I've seen this on the bay, and it fits my want's down to a 'T' (Not a T5 unfortunatley!)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2004-VOLVO-V70-AWD-SE-D5-TD-ESTATE-GEARTRONIC-7-SEATS-/260671519934?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3cb13bbcbe

My only concerns are:

1: Seller claims it's a 185. I have read the D5 EuroIII vs IV thread, and emailed the seller to clarify engine cover colour. He has yet to reply. I'm guessing I might be 'lucky' and be getting an early face lift with this one.

2: It seems a perfect bargain for what it is.

Any advice before I trundle 3 hours down the motorway with a wedge of hard earned?

1. It isn't. It's a Euro III 163hp. 2005 MY. 223gCO2. Check your taxation class!

2. HPI check it until it screams. Then check it some more.

3. Look for signs of any accident damage/dodgy repair.

4. Drive it carefully. Check it out for turning circle/transfer box chatter & clatter. Check the geartronic works in auto and manual shift.

5. If you have ANY DOUBTS OR MISGIVINGS WHATSOEVER - walk away. It looks like a bargain but an angle gear/transfer box repair will be half of that.
