Engine coolant expansion cap cracked!

Should I be worried? Is my head gasket on it's way out?

I've ordered a new one from Ebay anyway!

was it a grey one? they were replaced with a newer green one

If its an original no I wouldnt be worried about it. Fair wear and tear at the end of the day.

I dont think its a sign of your head gasket on the way out... of course tell tail signs are mayonaise looking oil on end of dipstick and discoloured coolant.

think they were a poorer design/quality which is why they changed them

Wouldnt like to answer that end of the day its your own risk... If you think about it there are probably many people with similar problems driving around completely unaware, ultimately you should be ok providing the crack isnt to serious and that the system can still maintain pressure.

Mine cracked and I drove it around until I got the newone, but then it wasn't broken enough to depressurise the system.

make sure its not the bottle cracked as they had an issue with that too i believe.
