My new fluid I have already stored in the garage is:

Suitable for:
■GM TYPE A SUFFIX
■DEXRON II/IID/IIE/III
■Ford M2C-138-CJ/M2C-166H
■ZF TE ML 09/14
■Allison C4

Is this ok for my 850 CD auto T5. The changes are becoming clunky and fluid is off colour and just noticed a tad over-full.

Used SEARCH button but was not finding the right answers!!!! need to kindly know also where the drain plug is located.

Thanks Phill

Sorry, I can't help with the drain plug, is there nothing on the gearbox sump? or, you might have to unbolt the whole sump to drain it

Is there a drain on the box?, I thought the old method was to remove one of the cooler pipes, run it into a bucket or similar and just fill until the stuff coming out runs clean...

Still doing the topping up now, the dippy is useless. There was a 22 socket on the inner side of the gearbox behind where driveshaft goes in:)

Changed about 25% of mine last month, will do it again soon now turbo fitted, found my gear changes not as smooth, and i had deliberatly left oil as changing it can cause problems but think as my oil was so dark and brown i prob had little time before trouble, i have been using Lucas Racing Semi Synth ATF for a few years now, as i had a few box's blow on tracks/Santa Pod( was running around 500bhp in a modified 300ZX with auto box)then got onto this ATF from Lucas, as in the US they use it in Pro Fuel Dragster box's, besides other vehicles. It sure has not caused me any problems,in fact it gives me confidence in my tranmision, and already my 850 is smooth again.

And i can honestly say i think its the best there is.
