You need the codes read. It's basically a check engine light.

If yours is a 96 car than you need a flash code reader or dealer.

If pre 96 you should have a little box near power steering and windscreen top up to read the codes.

Lamba sensor mate, probably got a small air leak somewhere, check all the little elbow pipes first.

If its a 96 car with the ODB socket under the dash you can make a code reader have a look here ;

I would read the codes first the light can mean any number of things .
