View Full Version : Silicon Intercooler Hose Query

I am currently changing my intercooler hoses to silicon. The problem is that my car has the standard R.I.P. set up from new so I can't get the standard Samco hoses. I have already had a front hose made, but I still need the reducer connector at the back of the engine. Now here is my question:

What type of silicon hose should I be getting for this application?

When I took the original off, it had oil on it, and a little in it too (could be down to the blocked PCV that was changed last year). I have noticed that some say they are not suitable for oil, but the standard Samco set up seems to use the standard Samco hose and not the Fluro? Samco (fuel & oil resistant) hose.

Also, there seems to be some hoses that are for higher temperatures. The standard ones seem to go up to 170c, so is this ok? Or should I be using the high temperature option?

Any and all help would be gratefully received!

the standard PCV system feeds a small amount of oil thru the turbo pipes anyway, i just used the normal silicone joints/reducers & been fine.
