Hi all,

How found a picture of an 850 with a really nice looking front end. I think I have found the grille at parts for volvos but cant locate the crystal looking lights and indicators. Any help please. Also I used to like the look of the greyed out rear lights you used to see on RS turbo escorts. Does anybody know of a process or custom lights to achieve this look. I think it would look awesome on my grey R.

Cheers

Those are pimpin'

Not these, but a similar effect: http://reviews.turbometal.com/volvo-850-halo-projector-headlights-93-97/

As for greying out, I know Crazy_C uses tights (or is it stockings?!) over his ;)

This is a PFS grille when I had a brief flirtation with chavdom before returning to my pipe and slippers:

As for the rear lights, try this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-E-tech-Light-Tinting-Spray-BLACK-SMOKE-lens-tint-/270622937152?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f02625040

just mask up the bits you don't want to tint, then spray. I've done a few cars, it works well, better than using mouldy tights!

Would love to know how he made them? Is this a UK car then?

Yeah not sure about how the tights thing works Phil :)

With the tinting of the rear lights, do you need to do anyhting with the bulbs. Ive seen somewhere the LED replacements?

Ill try and find a piccy of the look Im going for. Just to iterate, im not going for a chavvy look here, just really like the car to look clean and slightly different without going overboard :)

This is the kind of look i would like. Not sure if you can remove the colouring from the plastic lense then tint it using the spray? I think it would make the lights look like they blend in bit better???????

The colours on our lights can't be removed, I'm not sure how to achieve that look, as your car is dark, maybe just a couple of light coats of tint just to deepen the colours.

As for bulbs, as long as you don't get mad and go jet black, the standard bulbs work fine.

i spray tinted the outside of my rear lights, then fitted leds all the way up to the top, personaly i cant stand the chrome/crystal lights,
they always seem a bit cheap lookin, and chrome belongs on old cars...proper classics.............
that car is a left hand drive.

Think I need to have a play before committing to anyhting daft. Has anyone got a spare rear unit thats maybe not in great shape in the northants area. Bit of fishing and a bit cheeky I know:)

I think PFV have the crystal looking indicators but would need to see them in the flesh. However without the headlights, I dont think they will look right???

I think they are mercedes AMG alloys off the old 190. Not sure if they are a straight fit or adapters were used.
