Does anyone know if a 940 auto box will link up to a 3.5 Rover V8 with just an adapter plate?

You can nearly make anything fit anything given time and money, you got a rover box? might be easier to fit????

Well mine is a '97 940, and the 95 940 gearboxes are compatible (4HP22 gearboxes) so I wasn't sure if something could be done to adapt the gearbox or whatever from the AW72 to the 4HP22 (if that makes sense?)
