2001 V70 T5 ECU/adaption reset

Hiya

Can anybody advise me how to complete an ECU fault code and adaptations reset on a 2001 V70 T5 please? I don’t have a code reader at hand but would like complete the reset without having to pay for the privilege but with minimal risk to the ECU.

Grateful of any advice.

Remove the battery cables from the battery, ensure battery is completed disconnected then touch the cables together, apparently.
