Hi

I am a new member to your fab forum. As well as that my wife and I are both fairly new to the Volvo thing, She has a nice shiny V40 T4 which has been great so far ( I hope thats not tempting fate) I have just got myself a nice V70 T5 It is a expolice car. I have removed all the wiring which is left in after they have finished with them. Anyway to my Question at last I hear you say. I want to get the day running lights working again!! does anyone now what they do to them????

:troutslap

Cheers

This should be in your owners manual - the book that comes with the car.

Essentially if it's the same as the 850 there is a little screw underneath the light switch/knob - turning it either turns the day running lights on or off. Search the threads here - there will be a more detailed explination.

Andrew.

Hi all

I have had a look for this Grub screw. I can't seem to find it !!! I have had the lights switch out of the dash. I will have another look today.

In answer to the Question how did I find this great forum. I was looking for tech help on my new toy and your forum came up on Google.

My day lights don't go out, even after turning the grub screw. Lights are either fully on front and rear, half on with sidelights front and rear, or half on front only, depending on where you have that screw pointing. Have seen other cars with them fully off, but think 96 850s are exempt.

No No Can Not find this Screw. Am I being Blond ? I have had the light switch unit out and no screw. So ok lets say that my V70 t5 don't got one of these here grub screw. How will the boys in blue have changed the cars wiring so that the daylight running lights don't come on ?

Check the pic at http://uk.msnusers.com/T5PICS

The screw you are looking for is the little thing to the lower right of light switch you need to push it inwards and turn to change the light configs
Vertical setting for daylight running lights on at all times(can`t be turned off)

My T5 is 2001 and the headlight switch is not like the ones pictured. It has the headlight knob with two rollers one for headlamp leveling and one for panel dimming then under them there are two push buttons for front and rear fogs. But no Grub screw. I dont know how to get a picture on here?

Mine's a 1996 with the switch like this, but I have no dim-dip; with the grub screw vertical, I get normal dipped beam.
Cheers, Chris.
