hi does anyone know if its possible to regrind the crank on a 2000 v70 t5 mines just started to knock any help would be apreciated thanks and is it best to use fully synthetic or semi thanks has anyone ever got away by just changeing the shells or adding an additive or am i dreaming

fitting just new shells and hoping is bad practise. costly and normally won't cure the problem.

total rebuild , and check old engine if you rebuild it what caused the oil starvation in the first place to damage it.

or replace engine

oil= always use best oil you can afford be it semi or fully synthetic

Best to contact a local engine reconditioners, they'll have all the specs for a re grind.

A second hand good engine will be a lot cheaper to source and fit than a total rebuild.
