basically a part of the outer casing has broken off. so what want to know..

where can these be found?
can the car be driven low revs with the damage?

i have seen these with lumps missing out of them on varying vehicles. most seem to be ok with bits missing. just depends how bit the "bit" is.

cheers for welcome guys, still living the dream though as gotta use the 850 for work till 960 on road.. it hurts to think im going to loose a good 100hp ina couple weeks tho haha

its a 95 2.5 I6 estate,..oh and she has a nice M90 ;)

going to be my first rwd,.so im not going to touch engine untill im happy with the new found driving, always had fwd.

the chunk is literally like above,.. ive heard the engine up an running,. to which there was nothing out the ordinary that this broken damper was interfeering with.
ill start a new topic for the car but still intrigued with this damper damage would i run into any major issues if was to drive the car?

if i was you stick a 3.0 24v in it on to that maual gearbox with a 3in exhaust and chip you are looking at 300 bhp with no turbo lag just pure power.i think petet5 has a 3.0 24v engine that was new topend done for around 100 to 150 pounds .you could get that engine in in 1 day max.
