New to volvo...lets see what happens!

Hi everyone....

Just bought my first Volvo.....

A manual V70 T5 and I'm very happy with it! Stock performance is very capable but the car won't be staying stock for very long. I hope to keep any exterior changes such as alloys and maybe the roof lip spoiler as volvo. I'm not a bodykit person and still like my cars to remain what they set out to be in the first place.

I have already started to tidy up the front end with spraying the grille and giving the engine bay a quick go over....

Nothing is to everyones taste but I can gaurentee no big kits or jap exhaust cans will be added!

The shopping list for the next 2 months is.....

Suspension - Can someone recommend a good firmer setup? Springs only or a damper and spring combination.....

Alloys - I was thinking the 5 spokes off the V70r but not seen many about...Something volvo or along the bbs lines...

Filter - Recommendations from any T5 owners please! Panel or cone with heatshield.

Exhaust - Will be researching into best options....I am looking at stockish looks but 3" bore and decat.

Remap/Software/Chip - Either RICA or similar to boost engine performance

Hi Alex,nice motor you've got there:D

As for the rims(V70R)those are Pegs ans are easily obtaineble(originals or as i got the immitation version)
Exhaust,there are a few options(makes)i went for Ferrita(but don't know whether they do the N.
Chips,the same really(much options)and again i went for something different(Called MTE)

Are the original pegs 17"?? I know you can gewt copies off ebay in 18x8 but was wondering if these were cheap crap and not to bother...

iv got the cheap crap 17 pegs from ebay............
and havnt had any problems with them.
aint nothin wrong with them.........

As stealth said nothing wrong with copies.

Personally i'll go for at least 18" if i was you(or even better,19",mmmmmmmmmm)

Not a fan of the above....

Think I would be best on 18's as the wheels I have at the moment look a little lost on such a big car...

I imagine the tyres they supply are pony so its best to just buy the alloys seperately?

they come without tyres so you can fit what ever brand you want...
some places do a wheel/tyre package.....
but the bigger wheel you go the harsher the ride as you will need lower profile tyres

Most of them say 97-00 v70 fitment which i gather counts mine out? Mine is a 2000 but a phase 2 right so counted in the 2000-2006 bracket??

yeah yours is phase 2.
good thing about volvo wheels is they seem to fit most styles on most models...lol.
with some wanting small spacers....
you should have a good choice of wheel for it anyway....im sure someone else on here will know more about it than me.

You could always look into the 18 inch Nebulas too, I have always thought they looked really good.

Its a difficult one to call, they tend to pop up here and there but like genuine pegasus alloys they are quite rare.

There is a couple of sets on ebay at the moment, non genuine but brand new for 499 or 699 with tyres. A bit steep but guaranteed to be mint condition.

Trying to make the front end more aggressive and had some tint spray left over so gave the fog lights a few coats...
