the electric roof wont come down since the battery went flat last winter. the symtons are roof switch is flashing and audible alarm when driving along.went to local volvo garage in swansea who said it could be faulty controle box and £500 to fix any suggestions greatly accepted.

Have you tried the sequence manually, as the control box needs to see all the correct signals and maybe yours is just confused.

Look in your handbook on the car, It should give details how to close the roof manualy from within the boot area, there maybe a reset switch there as well.

There are curcuit breakers in the fusebox as well which may require resetting.
