why would my car be using a litre of oil every 200 miles? sometimes i see a puff of black smoke but mostly nothing when driving, the car pulls as well as it should be its getting quite expensive as i use synthetic oil,

using or loosing/leaking? is it all messy n smoky down back of engine for instance?

What viscosity do you use?
Are you sure it doesn't have a rotary engine?

use semi synthetic oil magnatic etc its a thicker oil.

My R uses 10w 40 and hardly uses any oil,

must admit i noticed it smoking a bit in the fire-up lane at Avon the other weekend

was the smoke constant or just the odd puff? and i always use fully or part synthetic

just seemed to be when you pulled off to move up the queue, but did it a couple of times

You need to do a head test, that will show up if the valves are worn,
