Code reader anyone ?????

Does anyone have a code reader i can borrow??? id just like to run a diagnostics for piece of mind, can anyone help ??

I use my with a netbook but could work with a pc if you had a long enough usb wire

Now I bought an OBD reader (an Ebay special) but it is unable to make a succesful link with my 96 and 97 OBD cars (well, car now). I have heard that some early OBD cars wont always work with cheaper scanners. Is this true?

Phil i had the same when i bought mine i thought i had a faulty reader as i tried it on a few laptops in the end it was the com port was wrong they only work on one com port

that looks like a rebadged version of what i've got, works on my 2002 D5

i think the problem is the early 850's weren't fully OBDII compliant

Have you tried logging onto the ELM website when you have it plugged in ? or through the software program ?.

The reason,

The one I got off E-bay turned out to be a copy, or the software was wrong !! something like that and refused to update or have anything to do with it, no backup at all.

It does work on the car, but I wanted to upgrade the software to do a "Freeze Frame", but then I found out, wasn't kosha.

the programme i use can record live etc never tried the update I have loads of other software tuning untuning reading etc etc modding etc some are trials some are working they are on 2 discs some multi versions on the disc's as i say some of them work legit and other you can use parts of it If anybody is interested in these disc's i am willing to burn and post to yourselves at a fee £3.50 just send us an email (mr.svgourley@googlemail.com)

some of the software i got free downloads so you can try before you buy but quite alot of the software i purchased from sellers via ebay all on one disc but have bought different versions and put on to one disc would be the best way to discribe it
I mean't to actually put that statement in i wouldn't even attempt to seller counterfeit products especially on here sorry for the confusion BOSS
