If you are not going down the dual action random orbital polishing machine route or rotary for that matter - then Autoglym SRP has lots of fillers in it to disguise the swirls.

Haven't you seen the ads?

The 'JML Scratch Removal Kit' is the future of car polishing :)

It magically removes scratches and leaves your paintwork looking like it has been professionally polished!

You even get a 'magic' microfibre cloth with the kit. There's nothing this kit won't do and it'll save you fortunes at the body shop . . .

Available at Asda, Wilkinson, Robert Dyas, all good DIY stores and most crap ones !

Only £9.99

Seriously. Look for products by Farecla.

Best known for professional body refinishing products (i.e. they don't come wuith instructions!) They also market a 'DIY' range which includes a coarse scratch remover with a toothpate like consistency and a lighter 'swirl remover' which is more like AutoGlym as a liquid.

Both products are easy to use and give a pleasing result with a MkI human polishing attachment and elbow grease.

Once you have removed the scratches to your satisfaction a good polish is 3M 'Finesse It' if you can find any and finish with the wax, resin or silicone of your choice.

Don't forget to 'strip' any panel you want to polish before you apply the cutting compound. This will save you tediously cutting through wax and bloom build up to get to the paint.
