I was wondering if it might be an idea to have an General advice/assistance section. We have around 800 members that must span hundreds of different jobs/occupations/skills. How about setting up a page where those willing to contribute advice or services (keeping it tastefull and not advertising) could offer their particular skill to members seeking it. For example if someone wanted decorating advice they could look at the list and PM a decorator who has posted willing to help. If it was viable, it could possibly expand to people getting a few things at a discounted rate or providing a little "homework" at weekends. I for one often have to resort to trawling the internet or driving into town for information that a tradesman could give me very quickly and easily. Quite often I have bought the wrong thing because I didn't get good advice, thus wasting time and money. With 800 people at our disposal I think we could create a very useful section.
Tell me what you think.
