Spotted this one on the Bay of all Evils with 300,000 on it - now that is pretty hign by R standards, although I beg to hear differently! I know there is a 2,000,000 mile Amazon out in The States, and there are plenty on mincabs doing this. On the basis that this will have averaged about 17mpg this car will have used about 18,000 gallons of fuel. And that is a bit scary when you consider a gallon of V-Power costs about £5.65. Over a £100,000 in 14 years - or £7k a year. Lets hope he got better mileage than that.
Obviously fuel prices have changed but nonetheless, it makes you think.

It may have high mileage but by god does that look in good nick. I dont think I have ever seen a Red R shine that much. I am watching it... I dont care if its high mileage many will so I reckon might be a bargain to be had there.

Mind you, mine has 93k on it - so whilst I think it has to be worth a punt, I bet it must be getting a bit tired in places. And it does look very smart.

i'd expect alot more wear on the seats for 300k, i'm wondering if he read the "how to clock a car" book wrong lol

I suppose it's true that Volvos seem to do the miles better than most. Mine's on 155k and the seats don't look bad at all, no trim rattles etc.

Oh guys! I'm well chuffed with that. I have to say I think I was AMAZINGLY lucky to get it in such good nick. But the reds often do last well for some reason I can't fathom.

Are we sure it's actualy done 300k?, may just be that he typed in 300 as a random number as lots of sellers do on ebay rather than put the correct figure.

Think you might have something there! Although he does say high mileage and drives like only done 100k so must be pretty high

I've been quite disappointed with my T5's ability to run up high mileages, 150,000 and the engine and box were knackered ! (hate to say it but my Laguna's winning the 'high mileage' contest hands down so far in my house !)

You lagu what the bloody hell is one of those??? Haha.

There was a 52 plate 1.9 diesel laguna were I used to work with over 200k on the clock used daily as a pool car. Seem to last mate.

I know, I was just as surprised but it's on 252,000 miles on it's original engine, and it's petrol !. The gearbox admittedly started to get a bit noisy at around the 245,000 mark but it's still going. I have let it slide in the last couple of years (when it blows up it blows up so to speak) but it keeps on ticking, and the previous owner (who had it from new) really abused it, I mean criminally abused it ! Best 400 quid I ever spent on a motor !

My T5 has nearly clocked up another 1000 miles since I hit the 200k mark (currently on 200890 miles), just checked the oil and it hasn't drunk much since I last checked about 3 months ago (still in between marks on dip stick). Can't fault the build quality.

There are good and bad ones of every car better to buy one used constantly for good journeys and serviced than one used for very short journeys and low miles and not serviced as often.

I might have a punt on this...

However not that keen on the blue ratchet strap on the floor in the pics.

Could be harmless or could be its been used to tow it recently.

Limped home to be polished up and sold?

Says no tears in seats, but the image does show one on the drivers.

mmmmmm gamble.
