some advice about key fob for 850

hi all i have only one dual button key fob for my 850 if i buy one off ebay how much will it cost to get programmed and do i have to get this done at a dealer? secondly how much is a new key and do i have to get this from a main dealer ?

you can program the key fob yourself as i bought one of ebay and programmed it myself but don't know about key as i want a spare for mine

what year is your car. 96-97. make sure all doors are closed. ogn on and off 4 times withing 10 secs. turn ign on and press lock unlock button. as for earlier models i am unsure. but can check on autodata for you in the morning.

The simple answer is read the owners manual. It is all very clearly laid out in the Volvo 850 Handbook supplied with the car when new.
