Hi guys
Icould do with more help
My S60 has started showing the engine service message
When i brought the car in April the garage did a service for me
My first thoughts were that the car just recognised the service was due because of the mileage
I have had this canceled by the garage i got it from but it still keeps flashing the message
Also the cruise control wont work after the message has flashed up
sometimes i can go for 40-50 miles with the cruise working then the message flashes and the cruise stops working.

sorry to go on a bit

any thoughts?

cheers

Clutch switch or brake pedal position sensor for the cruise.

Book it in with your local independant and have it scanned for other faults.

Hi chaps
just had the car scanned
they have told me its the clutch position sensor causing the problems
they said it will need the master cylinder and the sensor and it will be around £300
does this sound right to you experts?

any info greatly received

cheers

Duz it ££££ sound right! IIRC

Clutch switch is located to the right of the accelerator pedal - strange but true - it's nowhere near the master cylinder.

Results may vary etc.etc.

Didn't have the engine service issue but my cruise stopped working. Turned out the brake position sensor was knackered. Only one manufacturer and it cost me £85 for a new one. IIRC I had a rant on hear somewhere about it (the siren module went u/s at about the same time. Most annoying to put it politely).

Ah, there it is LOL

they told me the clutch master cylinder was weaping and the leak drips onto the sensor and ££££s it.
so they would have to replace the cylinder and sensor

as usual these things need running by you lot before any hard cash chnges hands

cheers
