had these sat under my bed for a while now & finally got around to having a go at fitting them, only bolted on quickly to see how they look & tbh i'm not convinced (although they are growing on me after looking at the pics). What do you think?

Duane paint them then ask us, Plus you need a single wiper to set it off lol,

Thursday 30th June 2005, 16:29
Why not use MS paint or photoshop to paint them the same as car maybe then they will look better...then they will blend in but just now cos they is black they is drawing the eyes to them!!!

i can see a pattern forming here lol, i sprayed them black to try & hide them in with the windows but they still stand out like a sure thumb (might give them a try colour-coded to se if they look any better)

Gaz yes if i can get them looking right i am prepared to sacrifice the electrics, they hardly got used anyway (& don't laugh about the single wiper i would love 1 :slap: )

Black - no!
Colour-coded then you may have a chance!

Maybe a completely different colour? ~ something a bit radical- yellow???

indeed they are strong Pedro. I hit a saxo, at about 15mph mirror to mirror, completely smashed the saxo's mirror to bits and just knocked mine back. Very impressed, she wasn't.:)

only fitted it to see what it looked like on the car so didn't connect the power up, got 4 leds to replace (must have damaged them fitting them) & then start T-cutting & soldering on the passenger one

quite the opposite, i've been sat on my backside all day when there are plenty of jobs i could have been doing :slap:

i'd been to busy thinking about the LED's again so forgot all about spraying the DTM's (give me 5 minutes tho)

Sorry but I still prefer the standard, non LED, version.
However, I'm not so into modifying the car in terms of lucks... I think they should look as original as possible.

You could fit the LEDs in them?? :)

Ive been coming back a few times to look at these mirrors and i have to say i hated them at first but they have been growing on me.Now with the paint job i am convinced you should stick with them its good to be a bit different.

Sorry Pedro, i've never liked DTM mirrors, i always thing they look like deformed ears.

As for the standard led ones, good thought but still don't look right. Maybe a few pics at night with the light up might look better

Stupid thing is about indicators in the mirrors, i had an F reg mini when i was 16 in early 2001 and because the car needed new wings, i was going to get wings without repeater holes and move the side repeaters into the mirror. Then a year or so down the line, they bloody release the Mercs with them

DTM mirrors just scream chav at me and they are no different on BT I'm afraid (IMO) They dont suit the car, they are entirely the wrong shape and far too small for thje size of the car. Not to mention the safety side of things as Pedro cant see out of them!! Just my take on them tho!

its ok, i've got a towbar to move anything out the way when reversing lol

John Ret.
Monday 4th July 2005, 16:50
I don't think a towbar will do much good if you get hit when changing lanes on the motorway!

p fandango
Monday 4th July 2005, 17:00
visability isn't that bad out of them, the problem is they aren't a very wide mirror so everything looks squashed just takes some getting used to what your actually seeing

even i'm not stupid enough to stick with them if i thought it was dangerous

Vikingxl
Saturday 9th July 2005, 23:04
Pedro whats the outcome then are you sticking with them or is it back to standard?

well thats sort of a good question, i've still got the passenger side DTM on but i haven't got around to the doing the drivers side yet (so you could say i'm still 50/50 lol) but i think i'll be fitting the drivers side on when i get around to doing anything
