I normally don't join in the "insurance" threads, but this has really got my goat.

So it's time to sort insurance out for my 2001 V70 T5. Chip and suspension mods, nothing else. Over 30, license for 10+ years, clean, 7 years NCB, second car insured as well (the S2000), not a bad part of town. So how the hell can everyone want so much money to insure it suddenly. Best quote I have got is a shade under £500. Flux wanted over £900. I mean, WTF. WTF. WTF. I was paying less than that to insure my silly T4. WTF. Etc...

have you tried Swiftcover? I always remember everyone telling me insurance will drop when your over 25, now i'm over 30 full NCB & driving a D5 yet still paying just over £400. Daylight robbery & allowed to get away with it

I know how you feel Al mines gone up since moving here as i share a postcode with stevenage. In reality the worst crime likely to happen in this village is some bloke stroking another ones special cow but my insurance is loaded as a high risk area.Yours might not be helped by all those students in your area mate.

Next year I can put the R on a classic policy - although it will mean reverting to standard spec. So that is the back-up plan should the quote be obscene. In the meantime, will enjoy it whilst it lasts.

Chris Notts insurance? They do my T4 at a silly price with all mods declared. Great service too.

Try Footman & James. They do my traders policy for all my other Toys/Cars :)

Chris Knott say they will match whatever I get elsewhere... which is nice but not helpful. Best so far is Greenlight. Will try Footman!

Bell Direct has been recommended as a cheaper option.
