Bit of a meeting today. I invited HG to come around to Wobbly Towers to get some photos.

HG is a top Lancashire Lad - just like me so we got on very well.

Sorted out the fitment of his ARB front corner clusters - after complains that they fell out all the time. They weren't in the slots on the headlights properly. 5 mins later niggle 1 fixed.

I don't want you all to think this a promo for various detailing sites but I use a lot of the products from 3 main sites plus HG wanted to know where I get the bits from (so I hope you lot don't mind)

http://www.chemicalguysuk.co.uk/
http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/

Showers aside we got on with a bit of snow foamage. 6 squirts of S/F plus 2 Maxi Suds II in the lance
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/foam-lance-various-fittings/prod_371.html

topped with water. I use a karcher washer.

I then showed HG the relative merits of the 2 bucket method. I hope that it will preserve his new paint work

CG are having a promo on buckets http://www.chemicalguysuk.com/product_p/prowshkit.htm

But you also get full 4.5 gallon buckets from CYC - http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=393 with the grit guards

We washed the wheels were washed using the Easy detailing brush
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and-tyres/ez-detail-brush/prod_480.html - with the billberry
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and-tyres/valet-pro-bilberry-wheel-cleaner-1-litre-/prod_499.html
(1 in 6)

and the washmitt for wheels - http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-and-tyres/black-wheel-shmitt/prod_307.html

We also removed the gunk from the engine bay - Carlack 68 degreaser - its lime green and german!
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/engine-amp-exterior/carlack-68-special-cleaner/prod_354.html

and dressed it with Aerospace 303 protectant.

I would have liked to have done more with the detail but the weather was not good. Good for washing - but not for drying. It was a shame as I had planned to demo a few more restorative techniques and try out a few new products I had bought. You will have to bring it back when the sun shines.

Also sorted out the height of the antenna mast on the rear 3/4
Here is the how 2 for the antenna downswitch we spoke of. Volvo Part Number: 9204656

We went out for a restricted blat - due to the conditions handling was a bit fruity.

As we both have ME7 I hope I was able to show what can be achieved to an extent.

Anyway here are a few pics we took at the Bedlam Furnesses in Coalbrookdale. 2 cars with the 19s look really spectacular - though I really should have taken the photos before the 30 minute rides out!!

Thanks for this. Car prepping is a black art to the uninitiated - some useful links there!

Ahh, made it back safe and sound!

I have learnt a great deal from that day, and basically been re-educated in techniques i have never really known. All i can say is Dave knows his stuff, and was a pleasure to meet him.

I will definately be down there again, and absolutely could not believe how quick a T5 could be, and the difference also in stability and grip key factors made - that car made me feel like i was driving a fiesta back home ha ha, but has again really opened my eyes upto a lot more - lets see what its like when the boost notches up eh?

Cheers for posting up all the links for me also, so i can get the right stuff and also crack on with that aerial :) pictures look great, cant believe how similar the wheels look, albeit yours are much fatter - but from the back look much better on the car - mmmm spacers for me i think?! and NO to coilovers!

Awesome day, awesome guy and awesome car!

I am poor now but very pleased with the purchase of the 2 new fronts - Bridgestone Potenza (225/35/ZR19) costing 150 each. I have to say that the torque steer is much decreased and the handling on the 19s is much improved.
Not looking fwd to replacing the rears - but they should do a while yet. I will have to look after them

Interestingly - one of the fronts is square - requiring a lot of wheel weights and the other - absolutely none at all!!

Just goes to show Nathan, that the Vredesteins were way past there best.

Just need to keep out of the potholes and away from kerb edges.

Damn those potholes to hell!! yeh noticed one of the fronts looed a bit like Paul Daniels head - so you have what size on the fronts? or is it the backs that are 255?
