Hi people does anyone know a simple way of removing the ETM to clean it out as I have a tick-over problem ie revs hunting? the car is an S60 T5 2001.

Undo plastic pipe from intercooler to ETM, four 10mm bolts going through the ETM, undo wiring, get a tooth brush with petrol or spirits and woolaaa i done mine recently and it worked a treat

Carb cleaner! Petrol is asking for trouble . . .

Dead easy... I can remove mine in well under 20 mins.
Better to attack the job full on.
1 Remove the over engine charge air pipe
2 Remove dipstick (to prevent damage)
3 Fold the rubber elbow pipe from the OTE pipe up behind the dipstick.
4 Undo the wires and water return pipe from the top of the fan housing
5 Unbolt the 2 bolts in the top of the fan housing, unplug the fan, and slide the housing up clear of the radiator.
6 Unscrew the jubilee clip into the ETM and push the plastic intake pipe down away from the ETM
7 Unbolt the 4 ETM bolts, unplug and remove.
