Please can someone advise me? How much will I be looking at to get a new key fob and have it programmed to my car? I only have 1 fob and it is becoming increasingly temperamental (a new battery has not improved things).

Is this something that only a main dealer can do or can I buy one from E-Bay for example (or anyone on here if they have a spare!) and it can then be programmed by an independent garage?

You will need a fob plus the receiver under the steering wheel on the drivers side. alarm control module.

Ok cheers. Any idea how much I would be looking at and whether it would have to be a Main dealer job or not?

Try and find some one that is breaking one a V70 or S70 or a S40, as long it has three buttons on the fob should work!

I was quoted £270 for 2 keys & 2 fobs re-programmed for my 98 V70 Me7.

This quote was from a local Volve stealer.
