Very nice ST it is worth the hard work when you get results like that. A good camera can also show the car at its best. We had bloody snow again today I hope it stops I have to do my dads S60 over the next few days.

know what you mean. my other cars are covered in the stuff so I ll just leave those for now.. went to get the car cover out the shed after polishing it. only to find a family of shed mice had made a nest in it. and yep. u guessed it... they made the nest from chewed up car cover... got about 30 holes through it now. so the mouse traps are set and the buggers will pay for chewing it.. only brought it 6 months ago.. cost me £40....the war between man and mouse has started lol...

This is when snowfoam comes into its own!

I polished my bonnet out again with the PC & some menzerna IP, CB Factory Sealant & CB Wet Mirror Finish.

Should be able to finish it this weekend and get the 19s on.

What did you use on the plastic trim. ?

I normally use AG Bumper-Care Gel. which is ok but doesn't last.

Nice results B.T.W

Yes - when I cleaned it on Sunday I gave it a thorough spraying with Mer shampoo through the pressure hose for just that reason - does not bear thinking about what damage that stuff could do. There is a lot to be said for polishing on a regular basis just so that when cr@p does land on the car, it washes off easily.
Currently using Mer although could not find the bottle on Sunday so used some Turtle Wax Extreme - seemed to work well (ie high polish and low effort).

Keep on toying with giving it the sort of polish it had when Dave owned it - I think he probably had it clayed before selling it: it just looked like a new car when I got it!

90% correction, VK - I'd say there are some very small swirls but you have to look at them in direct sunlight with sunglasses on to spot them. I don't believe it is possible to ever get 100%

Have bought some bits from PB including the Tardis - pre-clay cleanser. Also bought some wheel sealant for the 19s. Gotta get them nice before putting them on.

phew I get about 90% too. OOOO what sealant did you buy? A waning with the Tardis try and keep it away from any glued on badges I was taking the piss with the stuff when I gave the V40 a wash the other week I wasn't using it properly at all cuz I couldn't be bothered on that car, I sprayed it all over the car (wrong for a start) and left it for ages lol the 1.9D badge fell off.

Have to confess I have not heard of that. Is it good?

Just found this on Google: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=71201

Picked up a B&D jetwash from Woolies when they closed for about £20 reduced from £80 something. Ideal for this stuff as has little dispenser bottle.

Rim wax sounds like something you would buy in Soho. But seriously, when the Volans finally get refurbed is there a recommended treatment to keep the brake dust from sticking - or will I have to make that trip to Soho (or Amsterdam)?

Cheers. Unfortunatly, i had a small(ish) incident with another car, in which my car was written off. In the previous 9(?) months i'd had a lot done to it, as well as the bonnet, both front wings and the bumper where resprayed, the wheels fully refurbed and done in dark anthracite, all discs and pads, downpipe+de-cat, BMC induction kit, as well as having oil and filter changed every 6 months and full service every year.

It is an unfortunate name for a wax product for wheels. And it is purple.
