What else do I need to know/do if I swap my stock 15G Turbocharger on my 850 T-5 for a 16T Turbocharger or is it a straight swap over then increase the boost accordingly

you'll need to swop the exhaust downpipe as because they'll be different to the one on your 15g, i also recommend fitting an ME7 (or S60R which is better) exhaust manifold while your messing swopping turbo's

This is a hard one to tell what downpipe you have i swopped a 15g from my t5r to a 16t and it bolted straight on, if anyone knows how to tell(p.diddy one for you i think mate) let us know as i have a 16t waiting to go on a 94 t5 and i dont know if it will fit

you don't need to to swap downpipes if the 16t is from a pre-me7 (up to 1998) s/v/c70.

16t's from the pre-me7 x70's (and the manual (and possibly auto) 850R IIRC) had a straight exhaust outlet, the same as a 15g fitted to 850 T5's. Later me7 16t's (1999 onwards) have an angled exhaust outlet, requiring a different downpipe to fit.

and the early 850t5s have a conical flange same as a 940

So your looking at a straight swap pritty much,well thats if its a straight flange,all oil and water feeds should bolt straight up.
Boost should be ok but if you have had a remap for the 15g then it would be worth getting it tweeked for the 16t.

How can i tell without taking the 15g off my mrs car and looking?? dont want to get it off and then not be able to fit the 16t not worth the ear ache lol

there is a difference in the 2 turbos, i replaced mt 15g with another 15g from a p reg 850t5(mines a 94 n reg t5r).
the turbo from the later car has a slighty wider bolt patteren for where the down pipe fits , and the exhaust housings are different aswell , the earlyer 1s has a inconel type and the later has a like lip on the turbo

1 is flat fange same as 16t and the over is conical same as 940 as said earlier .i will have a look next time im at the unit mate.
