Is it a good idea to replace the stock valves with a aftermarket dump valve or is it unecessary ? My T-5 is had an Automatic Gearbox.

sorry if my Q's are stupid this is the first car I've had the ability to tune

thiers no performance gain from a dump valve (inless your recirc valve is knackered), most only do it for the noise when you change gear or let off the throttle. Being an auto you won't get the hiss on gearchange only when you back off

Pedro is spot on. I have a forge dv and blanking plate fitted to my auto and I like it. If you don't want to hear it then you don't have to but if you want to hear it then you just back off and it comes in. I can make it dump on gear change with some clever use of the accelerator ie letting off just before the car wants to upshift but it makes no difference to performance. I have also noticed that my fuel economy has got worse due to the way I drive it now.
I like it, some don't it's down to individual taste.

If you are desperate to "upgrade" then consider the Forge replacement recirc.

I've changed to one & it makes some difference!

It's worth checking the original recirc to asses the condition of the (pretty rubbish) rubber diafram. If it is torn, then the cars performance will be down.

Also replacing the TCV hoses as you check this is worth the time & effort!
