Silicone Turbo & Rad hoses question

Are Silicone Turbo & Rad hoses better than the genuine Volvo ones or is it just the colours look great?

I am bringing my T-5 upto scratch after your suggestions on what needs/could do with being done as I have the spare cash so this week its the Intercooler pipes and Rad hoses, then it will be anti roll bars then suspension bushes followed by the Lowering springs when they arrive.

I understand the silicone hoses are usually used to avoid bulge and hoses popping off when you increase the boost pressure by tuning.

You may notice the Anti Roll Bars and Lowering springs more in the interim, perhaps get the hoses done when you get a tune on the car ? :)
