Well one or two of you may remember me but, I couldn't remember my old loggin name so I've changed it. I Think? Anyway how the devil are you all and hello anyone and everyone.
As you may notice from my Advetar, my T5 is my everyday ride. Its my 3rd T5 now so I obviously like them, where as the car in my sig and adv is my weekend Brut and Track day monster. My current T5 is of the C70 Gt variety and Weekend baby is a heavily modified 300ZX about 400bhp at the wheels.(could be more won't be much if less)
You can see I 'm a smooth and steady chap.
So who are you and what toys have you got. Cov! any new toys mate.

Hello mate, nice cars you have there.
I had a 200SX S14 before the Volvo and ran a healthy 380hp @ the wheels.
You can see all about my Current Volvo from the link at the bottom of my sig.

Nice one,
Is yours an R or front wheel drive. Because that is the only thing that anoys me about the T5's. If you get on the power a bit early in the bend it ploughs. At least with rear wheel drive you can turn in when the arse gets out. Well isn't that the fun part of having high powered RWD.
Having said that they are a nice motor. Well I think having now had three say's enough.

Thanks, no mines not a `R' even thou I put the bage on :shifty:
And all are FWD, there are a few T5 AWD but we wont go into that.
Yeah its a totaly different car to the 200SX. But I still get a good grin factor from it if not more :dgrin:

Mark - I can tell you are gonna fit right in here.
I always wondered about the wisdom of Volvo. 700 & 900 series - RWD, then all of a sudden much better engine and they tranverse mount it??
I wonder if a RWD version of a T5 would not have been the better choice.
Enjoy the forum.

Hi Covcrew how are you. Has your brother still got that cool VW fast back with the after burners. Did he turbo it? I was talking to a guy in Wrexham who rebuilds a lot of those + the splitty vans. Apparently he's well known in the VW surfing crowd.
I remember I promised so we'll have to meet up at one of the 300zx pod meets or i'll cone to a T5 middlands meet in the Z.
I've just got a new ECU for her and a wide band lamber sensor so it'll be off to the rolling road soon for a final tweeking and see exactly what she'll do. There are four cars I know of that are running same internals and similar, but smaller output tubs and they've been dyno'd at lowest was 398.4 RWHP and highest 425.7 RWHP. That's why i say about 400 RWHP and thats only running 15psi. Which should be reliable.

It certainly is diffferent to a S14. What happened to that and why go for the Ballistic Brick? I toyed with the Idea of getting a S15 Siliva import as a daily drive ,but £15k  !!! was out of my league.
Anyway my wife just thinks its just a Volvo and therefore a sensible car. So C70 it was and a week later I fell over a beauty V70 R for about £1K less than I paid. Sods law.
I would like to see an 850 burning off the usual boy racer stuff. Do you go to the pod? Have you finished this as a project or are you intent on going further.

Hi Mark,
my bro has gave up on the VW fastback & trying to sell it, he's got a Nissan 200sx now but having alot of problems at the minute (& bolt went through the turbo & destroyed it). It would be good to see you at a meet, even if its in the Nissan & not the Volvo

I think it might have beem too much fun for it's original intended customers + frontwheel drive is much better in snow. RWD + Snow :help:
You are of course correct though in saying it would have been a far better car. Your obviously a inteligent man, because you concur with me.

What happened to the 200sx, a family put pay to it, but on the flip side at least I can go faster and will live longer now
LOL the C70's are nice but to miss out on a V70 R for a grand less, ouch
I do intend to showing my face next year at some meets, as this year has been a touch rough for me and its all I could do to hang onto the car, so the mods sort of went on hold, and I'm now in 2 minds whether to do any more or leave it like it is as shes running perfect :thewave:
As for Burning off Boy Racers. LOL I live in the Boyiiiiiieeeeeeee capital and to date have not lost a burn, and the others will tell you I've picked on some big puppies

Hi Andy
Like most of us car fannciers it's an emotive thing with my Z. The Marque 2 300zx came out when my kids were small and there was no way I could have one because of practicality's, but I always wanted one. So when I got mine some 5yrs ago I just improved anything that broke or went until the engine blew. Then I really went daft and spent £12K on the engine alone. The car is mint and owes me about £30k, though its only worth £12 max. If I knew then were it was leading I would have got something different, well maybe? Thing is It isn't finnish Yet :wizardtro

If its running perfect leave it and sprnd your money on a holiday for you and the family. You know what its like when the tweeking bug gets hold of you. money goes quicker than your car everwill. + It'll never ever be exactly what you want it to be.

Hows the new house?
Sorry to hear about the VW it looked the dogs. They fetch good money anyway, don't they. If its just the Turbo thats goosed it should only cost about £450 to exchange for a recon with someone like TurboTechnics, Turboforce or go for a Propper Garrett T28 rollerbearing Hybrid for £950 off Paul at Smithys Place. Thats what I put on mine. They are supposed to handle 2bar day in day out though I doubt the engine would unless he spends big time.
If he's strapped at the mo. I know Dave at dpmotorsport has a good few servicable T28's on his shelves that he wouldn't want much for.
